GLITCHED
You know those computer glitches right? When a game lags and you end up back where you where before? Or even when the game just freezes and you press random buttons helplessly, trying to pry yourself out of this freeze in time. Sometimes these help when you want to cheat, everyone has cheated in a game at some point. No use lying, because there's no such thing as a pure suck-up gamer.
My life is all about these glitches, except it's not in my Call of Duty Warzone match, it's in real life. I'll give you a backstory.
I started my life like any human would, I was born from my mothers womb, nurtured as I grew, I could never remember what exactly happened when I was an infant, who would? I only remember my life when my condition happened, I froze in time during kindergarten. I was afraid and tried to move, I wanted to move, I tried to flail my arms and jump up and down, the world around me also froze, then when I unfroze the world seemed to skip five minutes ahead. There was a kid on the ground near me crying, accusing me that I hit her. I swore I didn't but the teachers didn't believe me. So I ended up getting suspended for one day. Over the years my condition grew, and then the Jailors found me. They seemed so nice at first, they asked me to come with them so they could research my 'illness' they called it. I called it an illness at the time as well. They locked me away in a cell, which overtime became provided with more comfortable furniture and decorations. But that took three months.
The Jailors poked and prodded me, figuring out what triggered my illness. I was compliant because I wanted to control it, I did find out one thing I could control, the Jailors had a name for it but I called it "glitch"
Whenever I used the glitch my body's colour would separate into red, white, and blue. Then I would be able to shift through matter, move incredibly fast, and I've dodged bullets at one point. That's probably the only thing I gotten control over, the 'lagging' and 'freezes' still happen at random.
Then The Serpents Hand came along and freed me. I wasn't feeling like a prisoner before, but when I was broken out, I saw things that changed my mind completely. I saw the files they had about me, I was a specimen for science. The Serpents Hand broke me out and brought me to the Wanderers Library, they found me a home to hide from the Jailors, who constantly look for me.
"Hey you good?" Draco asked me. I looked up from the typewriter toward him. Draco was my friend in the Wanderers Library, he is something called a Dragnellion1, he has been an official member of the library for one hundred and something years.
