Getting thrown out of one's native reality by a vengeful god (or, well, someone close enough that the difference is negligible) isn't exactly the most pleasant experience, a fact that Macros had recently come to know, due to events that were only partially their fault1. Some are luckier than others, though, and the scars this particular individual has suffered were more mental than physical. This isn't so surprising, considering the similarities between where they come from and where she ended up. And thus the changes to her biology were mostly minor alterations on the molecular level. A few elements that the two realities don't share getting replaced, sub-atomic particles subtly rearranging themselves to fit slightly different physics, and other ultimately insignificant changes such as that. Insignificant, and yet still noticeable by the subject of the change, who was left rather sore for a week or so after his arrival, as nerves and previously already sensitive senses adapted to a sudden shift of environment. The mental side of things, though, was a little more damaged. Already not the healthiest of individual on the mental side of things, seeing the gaps between realities, as well as glimpses of alien realities briefly passed through, would do a number on the sanity of almost any unprepared individual.
After tumbling through realities and the space in-between them for what felt like a fair while, Macros had wandered bewildered for quite some time, surprised to find the many commonalities between what they knew and what she had to learn. Most people had the same general body-shape as what she was used to, even if their biology was different in some notable ways, and, for reasons that he couldn't even hope to understand (though she had a few guesses), many languages seemed familiar to her, though their monolingualilty had remained2, only understanding what they had most frequently heard being called "English", "Common", "Human", or "Terran". Luckily, this seemed to be one of the most widely-understood languages by people that she had come-across, so he was able to adapt to this new reality fairly quickly.
Along their travels, she had often been advised to visit a place called "The Library", being told that it was a good place for wanderers such as themself. She had been hesitant at first, as they tended to avoid places packed with so many flammable materials for fear of causing a catastrophic fire, but, eventually, after a dozen or so people had relayed the same information to him, they decided to pay a visit, and thus began their quest to find The Library. Asking around for a short while, she was directed towards two pillars of earth, one taller than the other, and given a set of odd-sounding instructions, but she knew not to question the workings of magicks and other such things. And so, she began. Twice clock-wise around the tall, once clock-wise around the short, thrice anti-clockwise around the tall, and once clock-wise around the short, then three knocks on the earth between the two, stand, and prepare. There was time to inhale, and then Macros was greeted by a shimmering arch-way with lines of book-shelves, through which she stepped, arriving in what he could only assume to be their destination. And thus ended their quest to find The Library, not long after it began.
