Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-4981 does not adhere to space, and as such, cannot be contained by ordinary means. It does, however, appear to have a connection to the ██████ region of ██████ National Park, located at ████˚N ████˚W. The encompassing 1.5x1.5 kilometer area of these coordinates are to be surrounded by reinforced hollow titanium walls filled with water. The roof of the walls must be coated in water to avoid ███████████████. This area will be referenced as SCP-4981-B.
SCP-4981’s extremely elusive and unpredictable nature necessitates the use of SCP-1573 as a Thaumiel-class anomaly. Interaction with SCP-1573 will cause SCP-4981 to become less aggressive towards ███, preventing ███████ , and thus escape by ███████. SCP-4981 is to be exposed to SCP-1573 every six months by coating SCP-1573 in human child blood to act as bait (any blood type will suffice.) SCP-1573 is to be deposited and retrieved to and from SCP-4981-B by drone.
There is no set procedure for entering, interacting, and exiting SCP-4981-B. A̶n̶y̶ ̶i̶n̶t̶e̶r̶a̶c̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶w̶i̶t̶h̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶s̶i̶t̶e̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶a̶n̶y̶ ̶r̶e̶a̶s̶o̶n̶ ̶m̶u̶s̶t̶ ̶b̶e̶ ̶a̶u̶t̶h̶o̶r̶i̶z̶e̶d̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶p̶l̶a̶n̶n̶e̶d̶ ̶b̶y̶ ̶n̶o̶ ̶l̶e̶s̶s̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶n̶ ̶t̶w̶o̶ ̶(̶2̶)̶ ̶C̶l̶a̶s̶s̶ ̶F̶o̶u̶r̶ ̶p̶e̶r̶s̶o̶n̶n̶e̶l̶.̶ NOTE: After the events of Incident █████, no personnel may enter SCP-4981-B for any reason.
SCP-4981 will attempt to kill, stalk, or possess any person(s) that interact with it or SCP-4981-B. Possessed persons (henceforth referenced as SCP-4981-C) exhibit general psychological dismay, which makes detecting cases of SCP-4981-C very difficult as most persons who come in contact with SCP-4981 suffer severe psychological damage. Any person(s) that have interacted with SCP-4981 must be isolated in a padded room for two (2) weeks in order to monitor for instances of SCP-4981-C. Person(s) must be screened by a Level 3 Psychologist for symptoms of SCP-4981-C upon the beginning and end of the two-week quarantine period. If any psychological, physical, or supernatural symptoms of SCP-4981-C are observed in a subject, said subject must be terminated immediately.
Any children under 14 that come into contact with SCP-4981 must be terminated immediately due to high risk of SCP-4981-C or becoming a █████ target of SCP-4981. If SCP-4981 selects a target (or targets,) it can further bend the laws of space to relentlessly stalk the target(s) no matter where they go.
Description:
SCP-4981 is an abnormally tall and slender humanoid resembling a white mannequin wearing a suit. SCP-4981’s height has been observed to vary greatly, with its legs capable of morphing to be extremely tall or almost average length. Pitch-black tendrils will protrude from its back and act as legs or arms, changing shape, size, and quantity at will. SCP-4981 has been sited many times throughout history, with various legends such as “tall man,” “boogeyman,” ███, and “slenderman” all matching the entity’s description and mannerism. SCP-4981 scarcely moves it’s body, almost exclusively using teleportation to navigate. It will use its tendrils to attack, ensnare, or ████ victims, choosing to almost never move its main arms, legs, or neck.
Digital and analog video equipment will distort or malfunction in SCP-4981’s presence. All camera or video equipment used to monitor SCP-4981-B will break down within a few days of installation, and the few video files documenting SCP-4981 such as [DATA EXPUNGED] contain noticeable corruptions and distortion.
SCP-4981 shows signs of sentience, including camouflaging with trees, tormenting its victims, and intentionally thwarting attempts to document, contact, or research it. NOTE: AFTER THE EVENTS OF INCIDENT █████, NO ATTEMPT SHOULD BE MADE TO FURTHER RESEARCH OR DOCUMENT SCP-4981.
SCP-4981 is immune to all forms of damage, including nuclear detonation as shown by Operation ███████. There is no way to stop or otherwise harm SCP-4981, however it does show a strong aversion to water. This tendency has been employed in SCP-4981’s Secure Containment Procedure.
