The golden rays outside a thin layer of warming acrylic window generously faded, leaving out enough room for another serene celestial night. You are sinking cozily inside a rubber ball-shaped sitting place, basking under the vesper. You can heartily feel now that beams were marching everywhere in the chamber, vividly, only for this while.
Before stars visually show up, you won't open that book on the round table - every time you finished a tough chapter or an entire volume, you'd spare out a moment for a spectacular sunset, unless it's raining. When the Nox started her lullaby, you reached your fingers out for the hard cover of that book. It has an intriguing name, and the gilded subtitle was engraved concretely into the cardboard-like material. It reads:

We are told that it's worthy to walk on thin ice because it will build a better world. But in the hindsight of the big war, again, why ever bother telling us that we are the generation of hope born in an era of unprecedented mightiness - glory of science and justice, while no one can actually escape humans' common fate of conflict, war, illness, aging, and death?
What has the self-proclaimed human rationality brought us, if we ever had such glory?
Having endured one long, tedious, pretentious century, the halcyon bird finally gave up its life in a horrifying shriek when its wing was shot by the first bullet out of WW3. Its death reminds us that we have never truly owned such a thing. We have never owned peace, nor are we able to create and sustain it. Social justice, human rights, pursuit of equality and meaning, all of these became a bunch of funny jokes to be laughed at by cynicals. We created the illusion of the halcyon bird, but we do not deserve its blessing. It has abandoned us.
Age of Halcyon (1945-2054) refers to the 110 years between WW2 and WW3.
Succeeding the Age of Downfall, The Age of Halcyon was commonly perceived as an assuagement for the four dreadful decades of war, and people believed the potential of globalization and peace could bring a more hopeful age. Halcyon, as a symbol of peaceful old time, idyllic hope, prosperity, and broad serenity, was hence chosen to signify this special century, even in hindsight.
The most prominent feature of Age of Halcyon is the common belief of a peaceful globalized world. Before World War I, most regions in the world were in isolation, and developed at varied paces. Some chose to reform and adapted a modern capitalism regime. Others were slower in this progress and thus were left behind, and due to many reasons, (most of which are long-term colonialization) they couldn't obtained national independence until late 20st century. But after World War II, at least there was a common belief that a world built on a new standard of "good" is possible; there came a standard of what the world should be like, or a "big picture", which was mostly non-existent before.
odern science that commenced by quantum physics and relativity earlier in 20th century has enabled other subjects to flourish, e.g., computer science, nominally marked by the birth of ENIAC in 1946; and contemporary molecular biology, kick-started by the deciphering of DNA structures in 1953. The seeds of those subjects were planted early in the 20st century, sprouted during the first half of the century, and fruited in the 1970s. Near 1970, two major events took place: the genesis of the Internet (following ARPANET in 1969), and political reforms mainly in Europe and Latin America; nations sought autonomy from imperialism.

Nevertheless, the old social structures are not subverted. The cessation of war cemented the common belief of democracy and human rights, but all global populace was walking on the rim of a saw blade without knowing it.

Age of Pacification (2056-2080) is the short period after WW3 ends and before the Ectoentropical Breakthrough.
Age of Nightingale (2080-2276) is the first age named in this nomenclature which eventually founded this whole new system of informal history. It was the last epoch of the history of commonly known Homo sapiens on Earth, marked by the start of the Third Industrial Revolution, and ceased by the All to One event.

White Night (Blanka Nokto)
All to One (Ĉiu al Unu, La Malpliigo, Unuigo, Sensoligo) (est. 2276) is the end of Homo sapiens by eliminating boundaries among individuals and integrating all living humans' minds into a hivemind, later named Avorasonaĉi, an intangible pluripotent entity residing in the modified quantum configuration of atoms comprising planet Earth.
This literally made Earth physically a sentient entity, but unable to manifest directly in physical form. A raw 3 million people quitted before integration and left Earth to continue to an intergalactic civilization.
