As God is my witness, we tried. Oh, I realize now we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into, but we tried dammit. I mean, what choice did we have? The world was running out of available energy. Sure, there was unlimited solar and wind power, but without the means to make the materials to harness those sources, what good were they? So, we tried…other things. We reached into someplace that we never should have. We found a source of energy all right, but at what cost? I don't know what has happened to the rest of the world. If you're reading this, hopefully someone has found a way to reverse what we did. Hopefully you're still human, hopefully you understand my words… I am leaving this and walking out of here to what ever awaits me. I can't take hearing *them* out there around me all the time now. I may be the last of all of us.
