One day, Life builds a Machine.

For a day, the Machine is simple, enacting the function Life builds it for.

On the second day, Life writes a Program to direct the Machine. As the Machine becomes more complex and is intended to fulfill more function, an intermediary is required, an interpreter.

For the next two days, the Program eats up need, desire, and spins it out on the canvas of cold binary. The Program is efficient, and the Machine is effective. For every new function it can fulfill with precise efficiency, it is given yet another, a new cog to the Machine for it to direct.
