THE KEY OF POWER FOR WRITING!

KIDNAPPING THE READER

Kidnap the reader. That’s how you get them to read it. You grab their brain through the corner between their eye and eye socket. You find what people want, then use their brain to make them look. Offer them what they want at a price, the price of your book or the price of reading it. Use psychology to grab their attention, their wants, and their needs. It’s how Andrew Tate managed to manipulate lonely people into becoming sexist. Same thing for Hitler. It’s also why harry potter is popular.

People want to be in a world of magic. They want to see under-dogs rise up. Depressed people like depressing music because they don’t feel alone anymore. It’s why torture is a good way to build rapport and immersion. Everyone has been through something. They’ve all felt lonely in some way. Now, add the fantasy. Some cure to make it all go away.

You need to make a relatable character, then keep their thoughts consistent. A character needs to be human. If not it’s just a chair that gets broken. Why should I care? Why do I want to care? I don’t care about a piece of Lego that is torn apart. I do care about a family being torn apart by Nazis during WW2. that doesn’t mean make them angels. For example, we love people who are assholes. Give them a reason to like something then show how they like that thing.

The insanity of the rules of your universe doesn’t matter. What matters is that it’s consistent and there’s a reason. Things happen because something else made them happen. Someone wanted it for some reason. Someone made a mistake or someone tried to fix someone else’s mistake. Why are they fighting a war against Orc's? Why does he think that black people are evil demons in disguise? If not he's just a talking sock puppet.

Now that you have it, and don’t instantly lose it, make your declaration. With consistency, actions will write themselves. Now it’s time to make your declaration. Have your character learn or experience the declaration. Make them learn that there is good in the world, or that sheer determination really can be enough sometimes. Hitler made people learn that the Jews were evil, they carried sicknesses with their big long hook noses. Harry potter learned that family didn’t always mean related via biology and genomes.

That’s how you use the tool of writing, at least the way I see it as I write and publish it.

TLDR: Kidnap the reader, make a human character, focus on consistency, and have them learn your declaration.
