Decrepit, rusting metal lines the wall and floor around you. In some places it has broken off to reveal the wiring beneath. You use your suit’s sensors to check the environment. Slightly radioactive. Freezing cold. No oxygen. Rather typical for old ships like this. This one was over 200 years old. It was in surprisingly good condition for that time, no damage that made it too unworkable. Hopefully that meant whatever it was carrying would still be good.

Your salvage partner’s voice comes over communications. They say they believe they are near storage, and ask where you are. You reply. You think you are near the bridge. Communications are cut. You look around the room you are in. In the center is a large hexagonal pillar. Dozens, possibly hundreds of wires connect from the top of the pillar to the ceiling. Each side you can see has a large and broken screen, and a keyboard just beneath. It would seem this is the central computer.

You walk around to the other side and find a less broken, but still cracked, screen. You press a button. The vestigial electricity powers the screen with some effort. Maybe there was a reason people use those old generators. You see several files on the old machine, the information inside just waiting to be read…

Seems about right, for the seclusion so common to this region of space. You suppose the ship was destroyed before they got home.

Tyrant Captain. Fits in with the mutiny. It would seem Agrazza was right.

Miracle resurrection device? That certainly sounded like good salvage.

Your suit flashes a negligible warning in the corner of your vision. Something about PSI waves measuring over a safe amount. Ultimately unconcerning, I assure you.

The technology would be the resurrection device then. It made sense that it would be what was in High-Value Cargo storage. That was where your partner was, wasn’t it?

It would appear the logs have been corrupted. You briefly wonder what he didn’t trust, but the thought is pushed out quickly.

Your partner’s voice comes over communications. They tell you they have finished salvage. They ask if you are done. You tell them you are. You are on the ship again, and you ask your partner what they have, and they present their findings. You wonder if this is the resurrection device.

You file the report.
